Maeve Clancy is an artist living on Achill Island who works primarily in paper. She creates work for children and adults using cut paper, story and drawings. She has worked on music videos for singer Lisa Hannigan, on set design with the Irish Theatre Company Branar and also mounted solo exhibitions and written both fictional and historical comic stories. Her most recent work includes a commission on the 1916 rising for Jackie Clarke library in Ballina.
This intensive workshop will be an introduction to pop ups with participants learning folds, cuts and paper engineering techniques. They will then design and make their own pop up based on the marine life around Achill: Basking Sharks, Mackerel, Seals, Dolphins and much more!
